Establish Weight, Volume, Pallets and Pro-ration strategy
The Pro-Ration Strategy in the Global Settings of Transportation Manager (TM) allows load and load/stop level charges to be pro-rated to corresponding shipment legs based on one of these strategies:
Weight
Weight / Distance
Weight / Volume
Weight / Volume / Distance
Volume
Volume/ Distance
Pallets
Pallets/ Distance
The Trip/Booking Pro-Ration Strategy in the Global Settings of Transportation Manager (TM) will allow trip or booking level charges to be pro-rated to corresponding loads. See Trip/Booking Pro-Ration.
In TM, Weight is mandatory for all Shipments (that is, must be greater than zero). Therefore, load totals always include a non-zero total weight for any load with at least one shipment leg attached.
In TM, Volume is not a required parameter for a Shipment. Therefore, if either of the Volume Pro-ration Strategies is configured but volume is not provided for all shipments on the load, TM will use the equivalent Weight pro-ration logic:
When the Pro-Ration Strategy is Pro-Rate Based on Volume and Distance (or Weight, Volume, and Distance), and volume is not available for all shipments, TM will revert to using the Pro-Rate Based on Weight and Distance strategy.
When the Pro-Ration Strategy is Pro-Rate Based on Volume (or Weight and Volume), and volume is not available for all shipments, TM will revert to using the Pro-Rate Based on Weight strategy.
In TM, Number of Pallets is not a required parameter for a Shipment. Therefore, if one of the Pallets pro-ration strategies is configured but number of pallets is not provided for all shipments on the load, TM will use the equivalent Weight pro-ration logic:
When the Pro-Ration Strategy is Pro-Rate Based on Pallets and Distance, and pallets are not available for all shipments, TM reverts to using the Pro-Rate Based on Weight and Distance strategy
When the Pro-Ration Strategy is Pro-Rate Based on Pallets, and pallets are not available for all shipments, TM reverts to using the Pro-Rate Based on Weight strategy.
