Tariff Restriction Properties (Employee)

Tariff Restrictions will determine whether lanes will be considered when routing is performed for any routable entity. The routable entities in Transportation Manager are: shipments, shipment legs, loads, trips, non-operational freight transactions and rate quotations (a.k.a. rate calculator requests).

For example: If you set minimum and maximum weight restrictions for a tariff service, then the weight associated with any routing request that considers this lane must be between the designated minimum and maximum.

Tariff Restrictions can be associated with a tariff service, tariff service equipment type or tariff lane. You can access Tariff Restrictions from any list of tariff services, tariff service equipment types or tariff lanes.

Minimums and Maximums specified for values that are qualified by a unit of measure in Transportation Manager (for example, weight, volume, distances, dimensions) are presumed to be expressed in the applicable base system unit of measure. Order value and declared value are presumed to be expressed in the base system currency.

In Create mode, you can copy a set of restrictions from a Restriction Template by specifying a Restriction Template ID. Qualified values in the Restriction Template are also presumed to be in the base system unit of measure and base system currency.

Properties

The Tariff Restriction properties page consists of two screens: General and Distance / Time.

Maximum Unloaded (Trailer Empty) and Maximum Unloaded (No Trailer) will be considered only when performing routing for a carrier whose lanes are domicile based since these distances can only be computed when full equipment utilization for the load/trip is known.
