List of Restriction Templates (Employee)

Use the Restriction Template to define constraints for routing and rating for particular tariff services, tariff service equipment types or tariff lanes.

The restrictions you set up will then determine whether lanes will be considered when routing is performed for any routable entity: shipments, shipment legs, loads, trips, non-operational freight transactions or rate quotations.

For example: If you set minimum and maximum weight restrictions for a tariff service, then any shipment, shipment leg, or load that you rate will be required to have at least the minimum weight, but not exceed the maximum weight, to be considered during routing and rating.

Restriction Templates can be used to copy a set of restrictions for a specific tariff service, tariff service equipment type or tariff lane. There is no unit of measure or currency context for values defined for a Restriction Templates. If a Restriction Template is copied, values that are qualified by a unit of measure or currency in Transportation Manager will be copied without any unit of measure conversion.

List

The List of Restriction Templates displays the Restriction Templates based on current search criteria. By default, the list is sorted in ascending order by Restriction Template ID. For more information on icons and functionalities available on the list pages, see Web Interface lists.

Properties

The Restriction Template properties page consists of two screens: General and Distance / Time.

Note: Maximum Unloaded (Trailer Empty) and Maximum Unloaded (No Trailer) will be considered only when performing routing for a carrier whose lanes are domicile based since these distances can only be computed when full equipment utilization for the load/trip is known.
