Rate Calculator is the launching point for Rate Calculator requests. Depending on the environment, results of this process can optionally be saved as a Rate Quotation.
The Rate Calculator page supports three modes of operation:
The Results Summary page will vary based on Rate Calculator Mode and the Routing Method, both of which are defined on the Rate Calculator Control page.
The Rate Calculator page has two input tabs, as described below.
The Main tab accepts the main information that is required for rating: mode, carrier, customer, origin, destination, dates, service, equipment type, weight, volume, pieces, pallets, freight class, etc.
The More Rating Units and Options tab allows the user to define any desired options (these can be individually set for A/P and A/R) as well as any input units for conditions or options that support the manual input of rating units. Any selected options must have Option Utilization set to Tariff Service Selection.
Note: The presentation of the Main tab of the Rate Calculator page is impacted by settings defined on the Rate Calculator Control page.
Note: The refresh icon for the origin and destination city on the Main tab will establish a default for corresponding zip/postal code; the refresh icon for the origin and destination zip/postal code will establish default for corresponding city and state/province.
