Use this page to control the appearance and behavior of Rate Calculator page. Several key fields are described below. See "Rate Calculator Version Fields" for information of all fields on this page.
Itinerary Format:
Multi-Location Itinerary: Main tab displays an editable grid for locations.
Origin and Destination: Main tab displays a section for origin and destination locations.
Origin, Destination, Template: Main tab displays a section for origin and destination locations and also allows an Itinerary Template to be specified. If a template is specified, the in-transit points for the routing or optimization request are defined by the locations referenced on the template.
Routing Method:
Routing and Rating Only: Rate Calculator triggers routing and rating requests. User will only be prompted for a single Pickup date. Scheduling will not be performed. Results page lists all qualifying carrier / tariff / service combinations.
Routing, Rating and Scheduling: Rate Calculator triggers routing, rating and scheduling requests. User will be prompted for ranges of Pickup and Delivery dates and times. Scheduling will be performed. Results page lists all qualifying carrier / tariff / service combinations capable of meeting the stated scheduling constraints.
Optimization: Rate Calculator triggers an optimization request. In this mode, proposed solution might recommend use of multiple carriers. User will be prompted for ranges of Pickup and Delivery dates and times. User can also indicate whether Overrides for Carrier, A/P Service and Equipment Type apply to the first leg, last leg or all legs. In this mode, results include just the leg or sequence of legs associated with the optimal routing.
Container Type Enabled:
True: Rating Units section includes Quantity and Container Type fields. Both will be mandatory. Quantity is interpreted as pieces or pallets based on configuration of selected Container Type. This check box must be selected in order for the routing request triggered by Rate Calculator to consider Southern Motor Carriers Rateware parcel tariffs.
False: Rating Units section includes separate fields for Pieces and Pallets.
You can use the 'Save' Version capability to save the specified Rate Calculator criteria for later use, or the 'Select Rate Calculator Version' to restore and use previously saved criteria.
