List of Navigation Pad Modules for User Group (Employee)

Security rights assigned to a user group are automatically given to the users belonging to that group. For each user group, a system administrator can selectively enable access to modules within Transportation Manager.

For example: You might not want certain sets of employees to have access to your System Settings, Load Build or Financials modules, but you might want to allow all of them access to the Shipment Processing module.

The List of Navigation Pad Modules for User Group allows the contents of the navigation pad to be customized for each User Group. It is accessed as an additional operation from the List of User Groups in the Environment module.

From this list, a system administrator will define the list of modules that will be available to the applicable User Groups. When a module is disabled at the User Group level, it will be excluded when the navigation pad is constructed for users in this group.

For example: When enabling modules for the Financial Audit user group, it is possible that all modules other than Financials might be disabled.

When working with the modules for a Carrier User Group, the only modules that will be available for activation will be those pre-configured for use by carriers. When working with the modules for a Customer User Group, the only modules that will be available for activation will be those pre-configured for use by customers.

The Navigation Pad Modules that are enabled for individual User Groups will be used to populate the Navigation frame of the web UI for users in the group.

List

By default, the modules will be sorted in ascending order, first by Module Sort Sequence, then by Module ID.

For information on icons and functionalities available on the list pages, see Web Interface lists.

Properties

The properties for a User Group Navigation Pad Module are defined on a single page. Sort Sequence will control the sequence in which the modules are listed when loading the Navigation Pad for the User Group. Sort sequence is not editable for the Solutions module.

Note: The first function within the module with the lowest Sort Sequence (excluding the Solutions module) will be the default function for each user in the user group.

Note: The Employee module or a user defined module should never have the lowest Sort Sequence for the modules enabled for the User Group.

Note: Special handling is in place for the Solutions module (SOLUTIONS_). This module contents for this "module" will be used to populate the Solutions portion of the Navigation frame. The Solutions module will not appear under the Navigation link for the user group. The Sequence Number for the Solutions Module is not editable. The Sequence Number for this module is not considered when establishing the lowest Sort Sequence for the User Group.

Note: The system administrator can enable or disable a specific Navigation Pad Module for the User Group.
