List of Shipment Legs – Shipment Confirmation (Customer/Employee)
From the List of Shipment Legs in the Shipment Confirmation module, TM will allow shipment composition to be reported for each shipment leg individually. This information will be distinct from the container composition that is applicable to the entire shipment.
This function will allow shipment composition (that is, weight, volume, pieces, pallets, order value, declared value and laden length) to be reported separately for each shipment leg. Shipment Leg reporting will also allow up to twenty (20) shipment reference numbers to be associated with an individual shipment leg.
Key aspects of this function are as follows:
Composition for shipment legs will only be captured at summary level (for example, total pieces, total weight, total volume). "Container" level (that is, multiple containers per shipment) details will not be supported at shipment leg level. Likewise, item level details by shipment leg will not be supported.
The composition reported for shipment legs will have no impact on freight financial calculations or rating. This data will be used for informational, audit and reporting purposes only.
Shipment leg detail reporting will be allowed for any leg of a shipment, including the first. Composition reported at shipment leg level for any leg will be distinct from the attributes for the shipment itself.
There will be just one set of values per shipment leg. TM will not support separate instances of shipment composition corresponding to the origin and the destination locations for each shipment leg.
This feature will not be available for shipment legs that are processed through manifesting.
Reporting of shipment composition for shipment legs will be permitted only when the Shipment Leg Detail Reporting Allowed flag for the corresponding Shipment table is True.
Reporting of composition for shipment legs is completely optional.
Users will be able to reverse the reporting of shipment composition for a specific shipment leg.
An entry will be recorded in the Shipment Leg Audit table when the shipment leg composition is reported; an entry will also be recorded if the reporting for a shipment leg is reversed.
Reporting of composition for shipment leg details will be allowed until the load to which the shipment leg is attached reaches an Operational Status of Closed.
