The Shipment Dates Type drop-down list in the Pickup and Delivery Dates section determines whether filtering for the ranges of dates supplied on a search page will be performed against original or overridden dates in the shipment or shipment leg tables.
If the Shipment Leg Dates value is selected, dates in the shipment leg table are used as search criteria. Dates in the shipment leg table can come from a variety of sources:
If an appointment exists for the origin, either directly for the shipment leg or for the corresponding load/stop, the pickup dates for the shipment leg will reflect the range of dates for the appointment. Likewise, if an appointment exists for the destination, the delivery dates for the shipment leg will reflect the range of dates for the applicable appointment.
Otherwise, if scheduling results exist for the shipment leg, dates in the shipment leg will reflect the results of scheduling.
Otherwise, the dates in the shipment table will contain the pickup and delivery date ranges defined for the corresponding shipment.
If the Shipment Dates value is selected, dates in the shipment table are used as search criteria. The dates in the shipment table have the pickup and delivery date ranges defined for a shipment.
If the Overridden Shipment Dates value is selected, overridden dates in the shipment table are used as search criteria. If shipment dates are not overridden, the original shipment dates are used.
In most cases, the amount of time required to perform the query for shipment legs will be lower when the Shipment Leg Dates value is selected.
Note: For shipment lists, only the Shipment Dates and Overridden Shipment Dates options are available.
