The List of G/L Region Zones defines the G/L Region Zone Group. Zones in this zone group are referenced in the G/L Account Designations. Financials functions that access the G/L Account Designations use G/L Regions for the applicable origin and destination shipping locations to determine which accounts should be used when generating accruals or when posting G/L Transactions for invoices or freight bills.
When address profiles for shipping locations are created or modified, the G/L Region is calculated by referencing the zones in the G/L Region Zone Group. G/L Regions are stored in each shipping location profile. If more than one zone qualifies, the one with the greater geographic precision will be selected.
The default zone assigned to a profile can be changed, but the new zone must still be valid for the address associated with the selected shipping location profile.
For Example: Zone A might be defined as being the entire state of Florida USA, while Zone B is defined as the city of Miami Florida USA. Initially the system will assign an address in Miami to Zone B, while one in Tampa Florida USA will be assigned to Zone A. The address in Miami can be overwritten to be defined as Zone A, but the Tampa address cannot use Zone B.
List
The List of G/L Region Zones displays the G/L Regions based on current search criteria. By default, the list is sorted in ascending order by Zone ID.

Properties
The properties for a G/L Region are identical to the properties of a generic zone. Zones created as G/L Regions can be reused in User Zone Groups, the Tax Zone Group, or as generic zones.
Additional Operations
From the List of G/L Region Zones, existing generic zones can be associated to the G/L Region Zone Group; zones can be disassociated from the G/L Region Zone Group; or, a new zone can be created and immediately associated to the G/L Region Zone Group.
