When the Transportation Manager financials module generates G/L Transactions, the G/L Account Numbers are normally retrieved from the G/L Account Designation table.
As each charge detail is processed, Transportation Manager will use the attributes of the transaction (shipment, miscellaneous voucher or non-operational freight) to retrieve the G/L account numbers that will be used for the offsetting Credit and Debit entries. Most of the attributes used to access the G/L Account Designations table are common to all charges associated with a transaction (for example, Division, Logistics Group, Origin G/L Category, Destination G/L Region). However, some attributes are retrieved based on the G/L Type associated with the charge detail. Therefore, it is conceivable that G/L Transactions for each charge detail for a transaction could refer to a different set of G/L Account Numbers.
Note: G/L Account Designations will be used as the source for G/L Transactions only when overrides have not been assigned for the Tariff Charge or Voucher Charge.
Note: G/L Account Designations are not referenced when generating G/L Transactions for charge details where the Master Charge is configured to represent tax amounts.
List
The List of G/L Account Designations displays the G/L Account Designations based on current search criteria. By default, the list is sorted in ascending order by Division and then G/L Account Number.

Properties
The G/L Account Designation properties consists of one screen.
Note: The following fields on the G/L Account Designation property page are conditionally editable: Logistics Group, Origin G/L Category, Destination G/L Category, Origin G/L Region, Destination G/L Region and Commodity. Each of these fields will be inaccessible if the corresponding Control in the Financial 2 tab for Transaction Management within the Global Settings in the Environment module is Not Active.
