List of Freight Classes (Employee)

Transportation Manager comes with a list of preconfigured freight classes for use in shipment order entry. By default, these are the National Motor Freight Carriers (NMFC) classes. They may be customized for your company by changing their descriptions.

When setting up tariff rates, a separate rate may be established for each freight class in use. The system will then select the appropriate rate according to the freight class supplied during shipment entry.

By default, the list of Freight Classes is sorted in ascending order by Freight Class ID.

Operations

• Activate: Activates the selected freight class.
• Alternate Language Descriptions: Displays the list of the descriptions for the active user locales other than the default language of Transportation Manager. For more information, see Entity Language Descriptions/Names (Employee).
• Delete: Deletes the selected freight class.
• Deactivate: Deactivates the selected freight class.
• New: Creates a freight class.
• Properties: Displays the properties of the selected freight class.
