Loads support total and maximum weights and volumes, expressed in the base system units of measure (UOM). All subsequent references to weight/ volume are to the total weight/ volume for the load.
The Trip/Booking Pro-Ration Strategy in the Global Settings of Transportation Manager (TM) will allow trip or booking level charges to be pro-rated to corresponding loads based on one of these strategies:
The Load Pro-Ration Strategy in Global Settings will allow load level charges to be pro-rated to corresponding stops and shipments. See Load Pro-Ration.
In TM, Weight is mandatory for all Shipments (must be greater than zero). Therefore, load totals will always include a non-zero total weight for any load with at least one shipment leg attached.
In TM, Volume is not a required parameter for a Shipment. Values for shipments are accumulated at load level. If one of the Volume pro-ration methods is configured (for example, either Pro-Rating by Volume or Pro-Rating by Volume/ Distance), but volume is not available for all loads on the trip or booking, TM will default to using the equivalent Weight pro-ration logic:
In TM, Number of Pallets is not a required parameter for a Shipment. Values for shipments are accumulated at load level. If one of the Pallets pro-ration methods is configured (for example, either Pro-Rating by Pallets or Pro-Rating by Pallets/ Distance), but pallets are not provided for all loads on the trip or booking, TM will default to using the equivalent Weight pro-ration logic:
