The Transfer Tariff Lanes utility allows you to duplicate or move selected tariff lanes and associated data from one tariff or tariff service to another. See List of Lanes for Tariff (Employee) for information on tariff lanes.
The utility allows you to direct the transfer of selected tariff lanes from supporting tariff lane lists through a series of transfer options. In brief, transfer options allow you to identify the target tariff, indicate the method of transfer and which tariff lane related objects should be managed by in the transfer.
For example:
One or more tariff lanes can be copied or moved (that is, transferred) to a different tariff
One or more tariff lanes for a specific service can be transferred to a different service within the same tariff
Lane restrictions defined for selected tariff lanes may be included in the transfer
Dock selection constraints defined for selected tariff lanes may be included in the transfer
Lane constraints defined for selected tariff lanes may be included in the transfer
Rates associated with the selected tariff lane may be included in the transfer
If rates are included in the transfer, surcharges/discounts associated with transferred rates may be included in the transfer
Transfer objects defined with a specific service under the source tariff to a different service under the target tariff
The Transfer Lanes operation may copy the rate code of selected lanes to the new tariff, or convert transferred objects that carry a rate code (that is, on lane and rates) to match the rate code currently used by a matching lane on the target tariff.
You can access the Transfer Tariff Lanes page from the following pages:
A lane defined for a master tariff is ineligible for transfer when presented on the list of lanes for a referential tariff. To transfer such a lane, access the list of lanes for the master tariff.
“Duplicate” is the only permitted transfer action for selected lanes belonging to a master tariff (i.e., tariffs referred to by at least one other tariff).
Tariff Services are not transferred by this operation. Transfer will fail if the service indicated on a selected lane or related rate (if directed by transfer options) does not exist under the target tariff.
When the operation is executed from the List of Lanes for Tariff Service, an option is provided to support the transfer of selected objects to a specific service (one that is defined on the target tariff).
If lane restrictions are selected for transfer, source tariff lane restrictions will replace any that exist for a matched lane in the target tariff.
If lane constraints are selected for transfer
Only those which can be linked to the selected tariff lane (via tariff, service and lane definition) are included. Within these, only constraints overlapping with the effective/expiration period of the target tariff are transferred. Start/end date and time adjustments are made to prevent overlaps with existing lane constraints (if any).
Transfer will fail if the target tariff type does not require a carrier (that is, the target tariff type is not carrier or customer and carrier specific).
Only lane constraints matching division restrictions on the target tariff, tariff service, or tariff carrier are transferred.
The equipment type specific on a lane constraint must be valid for the target tariff service.
Only lane constraints that exactly match the origin/destination of the selected lane are transferred.
If rates are selected for transfer:
Tariff Charges are not transferred by this operation. The associated charge code must already be defined in the target tariff for the transfer to succeed.
Charges defined as date-specific on the source tariff service must also be defined as a date-specific charge on the target tariff. The effective/expiration dates of the associated rate will be adjusted to fit the effective/expiration period of the target tariff service charge. If there is a mismatch (for example, the target tariff service charge exists, but is not date-specific), the transfer will fail.
Only source tariff rates that overlap with the effective/expiration period of the target tariff are transferred (that is, expired and not-yet effective rates are not transferred). Date-based rate effective/expiration date fields will be adjusted to prevent an overlap with existing rates. If adjustment cannot eliminate the overlap, transfer will fail.
Transfer will fail if the associated target tariff charge is defined as carrier-based or uses an external rating engine, rate equipment type is not supported by the target tariff service, or the source or target tariff charges disagree on range rate usage.
Transfer will also fail of the master charge for the target tariff charge is multi-freight class enabled and the source rate freight class is unsupported, or the master charge for the target tariff charge is equipment-specific and the source rate equipment type is unsupported.
If surcharge/discounts are included in the transfer, only rate-level items will be handled.
