Global Rate Adjustments – All Tariffs (Employee)

Using Global Rate Adjustments for all tariffs, you can concurrently adjust rates for a specific Master Charge on multiple tariffs using a single request. Changes to rates can be expressed as a percentage (for example, decrease by 1%) or a monetary amount (for example, increases by.05). You can also assign an amount that fully replaces the existing rate.

This allows you to apply adjustments to Tariff Charges that are common to multiple tariffs (for example, Currency Adjustment Factors, Fuel Surcharges).

This utility can only be accessed from the List of Tariffs.

Start page

To initiate this process, you must specify a Charge ID and a Date Range. You can optionally provide a Service ID and Range ID. These values are used to filter the rates that are considered when the Global Rate Adjustment request is initiated.

You can also specify the currency. If a currency is specified, only Tariff with Rating Currency and/or Rate Currency in the specified Currency, along with other criteria, will be eligible for update.

The currency specified will apply to both Charge Level and Rate Level Adjustments. So it will be possible that a Tariff with Tariff Rating Currency different from its Rates’ Rate Currencies will only have either Charge Level or Rate Level Adjustments updated, but not both levels.

The Range ID specified will apply to both Charge Level and Rate Level Adjustments. So it will be possible that a Tariff with Charge Level Range ID different from its Rates’ Range IDs will only have either Charge Level or Rate Level Adjustments updated, but not both levels.

Note: Rates for conditions where multi-freight class rating has been enabled cannot be impacted using this utility.

Note: Date Range is ignored unless the Rates by Date flag for the selected Tariff Charge is True.

Once control information has been supplied, click Continue to advance to the page where actual Rate Adjustments are defined.

Apply Rate Adjustments for Charge page

This page allows you to apply adjustments to any of the following: Minimum Charge, Maximum Charge, Base Charge, Rate. Increases are expressed as positive values and decreases as negative values.

When requested, this page displays the General tab, which allows adjustments to be specified at Tariff Charge and Rate level. If a Range Code was specified on the Start page, you can also toggle to the Ranges tab.

The Ranges tab allows separate rate adjustment criteria to be applied to each range step for the designated Range Code. You can quickly assign the same value to each range step by specifying a value on the first row and then selecting the Update Rows icon.

For updates to a Tariff Charge where Rates by Date is active:

The Submit button invokes the rate adjustment request and returns you to the List of Tariffs. An informational message provides a count or the number of Rates and/or Rate Ranges impacted by the Global Rate Adjustment request.
