The Weekend / Holiday Scheduling Control is one of several Scheduling control fields defined on the General tab of the Tariff Service properties for tariffs used by A/P routing.
A separate section follows corresponding to each potential setting for the Weekend / Holiday Scheduling Control. When scheduling is performed using any setting other than the first, weekends and holidays for the tariff service or delivery schedule will be considered.
No Break for Weekend / Holiday in Schedule
With this setting, scheduling will not recognize weekends or holidays from the perspective of the carrier. Carrier is assumed to be fully operational during weekend and holiday hours. Waiting time will be computed if carrier has to wait because pick or drop locations are not open over the weekend or on holidays.
Schedule Cannot Overlap with Weekend / Holiday Break
Computed schedule must not overlap with any breaks in Business Hours for the applicable Tariff Service. It must be possible to complete the entire itinerary within one business period, which could be an interval that is as short as a few hours but would more likely correspond to a business week (for example, Monday at 7:00am through Friday at 7:00pm). Applicable only when Scheduling Method is “Distance Engine”.
Weekend / Holiday Break can occur at Origin Only
Scheduling will consider a scenario where activity at the first pickup stop (and possibly other stops near first pickup stop) occurs prior to the weekend / holiday break while the bulk of the driving and activity at all other stops on the load’s itinerary will occur after the weekend / holiday break.
Any additional stops that are handled prior to the weekend / holiday break in addition to the first stop must be located within xxx miles/kilometers of the first pickup stop, where xxx is defined by the Maximum Radius for Weekend / Holiday Break, expressed in the distance unit of measure of the system . This maximum is defined in the Tariff Restrictions that can be associated with a Tariff Service, Tariff Lane or Tariff Service Equipment Type.
All activity associated with each of the stops being handled prior to the weekend / holiday break must conclude prior to the start of the weekend / holiday break period. This includes loading/unloading time at the last stop before the break.
Activity associated with the last stop being handled prior to the weekend / holiday break must conclude no more than yyy hours prior to the start of the weekend / holiday break period, where yyy is defined by the Maximum Early Stop before Weekend / Holiday Break, expressed in hours and portions thereof. This maximum is defined in the Tariff Restrictions that can be associated with a Tariff Service, Tariff Lane or Tariff Service Equipment Type.
All activity associated with each of the stops being handled after the weekend / holiday break, plus all driving to/from each of these stops must commence after the end of the weekend / holiday break period.
Driving to the first stop being handled after the weekend / holiday break must commence no more than yyy hours after the end of the weekend / holiday break period, where yyy is defined by the Maximum Late Start after Weekend / Holiday Break, expressed in hours and portions thereof. This maximum is defined in the Tariff Restrictions that can be associated with a Tariff Service, Tariff Lane or Tariff Service Equipment Type.
Applicable only when Scheduling Method is “Distance Engine”.
Weekend / Holiday Break can occur at Destination Only
Scheduling will consider a scenario where activity at the final delivery stop (and possibly other stops near final delivery stop) occurs after the weekend / holiday break while the bulk of the driving and activity at all other stops on the load’s itinerary will occur before the weekend / holiday break.
Any additional stops that are handled after the weekend / holiday break in addition to the final delivery stop must be located within xxx miles/kilometers of the final delivery stop, where xxx is defined by the Maximum Radius for Weekend / Holiday Break, expressed in the distance unit of measure of the system . This maximum is defined in the Tariff Restrictions that can be associated with a Tariff Service, Tariff Lane or Tariff Service Equipment Type.
All activity associated with each of the stops being handled after the weekend / holiday break must commence after the end of the weekend / holiday break period.
Activity associated with the first stop being handled after the weekend / holiday break must commence no more than yyy hours after the conclusion of the weekend / holiday break period, where yyy is defined by the Maximum Late Start after Weekend / Holiday Break, expressed in hours and portions thereof. This maximum is defined in the Tariff Restrictions that can be associated with a Tariff Service, Tariff Lane or Tariff Service Equipment Type.
All activity associated with each of the stops being handled before the weekend / holiday break, plus all driving between the first stop and the first stop to be handled after the break must conclude before the start of the weekend / holiday break period.
Driving to the first stop being handled after the weekend / holiday break must conclude no more than yyy hours before the start of the weekend / holiday break period, where yyy is defined by the Maximum Early Stop before Weekend / Holiday Break, expressed in hours and portions thereof. This maximum is defined in the Tariff Restrictions that can be associated with a Tariff Service, Tariff Lane or Tariff Service Equipment Type.
