Referential tariffs

There are two classes of tariffs, master tariffs and referential tariffs.

A master tariff contains the full set of information needed for a tariff: services, rates, lanes, etc.

A referential tariff is a tariff created based on a given master tariff. As it refers to all of the data contained in the master tariff, you do not need to enter all the details that were originally required to create the master. Referential tariffs are often used to express discounts and surcharges over the charges specified in a master tariff.

See the following sections for restrictions and notes that apply to the relationship between master and referential tariffs.
