Mandatory Rating

The tariff charge supports a Mandatory Rating flag. When activated, this indicates to the rating process that a valid amount must be computed for the corresponding tariff charge. Otherwise, the Routing, Rating and Scheduling process will be deemed as having failed for the applicable tariff service combination. Mandatory Rate can be maintained on the rating tab of the tariff condition/option properties.

To satisfy Mandatory Rating requirements, a non-zero amount must be computed for the tariff charge. Furthermore, if Charge by Range is activated for the tariff charge, a non-zero rate in the range rates must also have been identified. This would trigger Routing, Rating and Scheduling failure in cases where a non-zero amount is computed only because a minimum charge or base rate has been defined.

When Mandatory Rating is activated for a tariff charge where the Data Accumulation Level is Transaction, rating must be successfully performed for the transaction. At this level, mandatory rating requirements will only be enforced only once the constraints imposed by the Minimum Rating Units for Selection and Maximum Rating Units for Selection are satisfied.

When Mandatory Rating is activated for a tariff charge where the Data Accumulation Level is Container, all containers must rate successfully. If one or more is excluded because of Minimum Rating Units for Selection and Maximum Rating Units for Selection, rating will fail.

When Mandatory Rating is activated for a tariff charge where the Data Accumulation Level is at stop level:
