The tariff charge table supports Minimum Rating Units for Selection and Maximum Rating Units for Selection. These can be maintained on the rating tab of the tariff condition/option properties.
Rating is only performed for tariff charges when the effective number of rating units falls between the minimum and maximum. The rating units to be used as a basis for selection are defined by the (rating) unit type for the corresponding master condition/option.
When rating is performed for a tariff charge (condition or option) where the Data Accumulation Level is Transaction:
For loads, shipments, shipment legs, rate calculator (web UI), rate quotation (API) and non-operational freight, the totals for the entire transaction will be used as the basis for comparison.
For trips, totals for each load on the trip will be used as the basis for comparison.
When rating is performed for a tariff charge (condition or option) where the Data Accumulation Level is Container:
For loads, trips, shipments, shipment legs and rate quotations (API only), values associated with the individual container will be used. This means that rating might be performed for some containers for the tariff charge and not for others. For tariff charges where Rating Units is Size, the Size will be computed before selection rules are performed. For tariff charges where Rating Units is Weight, the comparison will be made after making adjustments to establish billable weight. See Container Based Rating.
For non-operational freight transactions (NOF) and rate calculator requests (web UI), since a single container applies for the entire transaction, the totals for the entire transaction will be used as the basis for comparison.
When rating is performed for a tariff charge (condition or option) where the Data Accumulation Level is Pick Location, Drop Location or Pick and Drop Location:
For loads and trips:
If the Data Accumulation Level is Pick Location the "picked" shipment attributes associated with each pick stop will be used as the basis for comparison to determine if rating should be performed for that stop.
If the Data Accumulation Level is Drop Location, the "dropped" shipment attributes associated with each delivery stop will be used as the basis for comparison to determine if rating should be performed for that stop.
If the Data Accumulation Level is Pick and Drop Location, the total of the "picked" and "dropped" shipment attributes associated with each stop will be used as the basis for comparison to determine if rating should be performed for that stop.
For shipments, non-operational freight, rate calculator (web UI), rate quotation (API) and shipment legs, the totals for the entire transaction will be used as the basis for comparison.
