Some Incoterms allow you to specify a midpoint at which the responsibility for the shipping costs shifts from the seller to the buyer. In Transportation Manager, this midpoint must be a physical location, such as a cross dock.
This transfer of responsibility can occur at a border point. If so, there must be a location specified in Transportation Manager to represent this border point.
Although some Incoterms allow for a designation of the point where the ownership of goods transfers between the buyer and the seller, you cannot use Transportation Manager to indicate this transfer.
Because the responsibility for transportation costs can change, the freight terms must be able to vary for different legs on the same shipment.
For example: Shipment leg 1 could be Collect and shipment leg 2 could be Prepaid.
