Create a truckload tariff – suggested workflow

The following is a suggested workflow for creating a Truckload tariff. Note that not all required fields are mentioned.

This example does not include set-up requirements for Fuel Surcharges. See "Fuel Surcharges – Initial Set-Up" for all set-up requirements for Fuel Surcharges.

1. Create Range Code for Standard Truckload Tariffs (if necessary). This step is only required prior to creating the first truckload tariff.

2. Create Master Service for Truckload (if necessary). This step is only required prior to creating the first TL tariff.

3. Create Master Conditions (if necessary). This step is only required prior to creating the first truckload tariff.

4. Create Truckload Carrier. This step is only required prior to creating the first tariff for this carrier.
5. Create Required Zones. This step is only required if the zones used by this tariff have not yet been established. In this example, the truckload tariff will use zones corresponding to selected cities in the state of Florida, USA.

   Example:

6. Create Truckload Tariff
   • Create Tariff Header

   • Create Service for Tariff

   Note: The default equipment type (*DFT) should be removed for this tariff service combination after creating these equipment types.

   • Define Restrictions for Tariff Service Equipment Types. Restrictions define the operational minimums and maximums for freight being picked up or delivered.

   Create lanes for all valid combinations of origin and destination zones.

   Note: Lanes can be copied from another Tariff Service combination using the Duplicate Tariff Elements operation.

   • Create Rates for Tariff Service Condition DIST. For example:

   Stop charge is not based on equipment.

   Rates created for Rate Code of asterisk ("*") will apply to all lanes.
