There are controls in the User Profile and User Group Screen Element Version table that will determine whether users will have access to these list utilities:
The Search, Export Data and List Customization utilities can be accessed by authorized users using icons in the header of most lists in the web UI. Chart Customization can be accessed by authorized users using an icon in the header of each Gantt Chart in the web UI.
The User Profile supports check boxes that indicate whether user is conditionally authorized to each of these utilities. See "User Profile fields - General tab".
The User Group Screen Element Version table supports fields that control access to each of these utilities. See "System Screen Element Version fields". For each field, the following values are allowed:
These values can be maintained from Screen Element Version Properties (Employee) for User Group Screen Element Versions where the Screen Element Type for the corresponding Screen Element is "List" or "Chart".
System defaults for each list or chart are maintained for the "SYSTEM_" User Group. These can be accessed using the Properties operation from the List of System Screen Element Versions (Employee) or the List of Versions for System Screen Element (Employee).
Controls for other User Groups can be maintained using the Properties operation from the List of User Groups for Screen Element Version (Employee) or the List of Screen Element Versions for User Group (Employee).
The application will not make any effort to identify cases where search is not supported for a given list. In these cases, the setting for the Search Control column in the User Group Screen Element Versions table is redundant. Likewise, values for Search and Export Data for Charts can be maintained even though these values are not used.
Settings for the "SYSTEM_" User Group are used as defaults when establishing a User Group Screen Element Version override for a specific User Group. If an override exists for the applicable User Group, it will supersede the "SYSTEM_" User Group settings.
The web UI will consider settings in both the User Profile and the applicable User Group Screen Element Version when determining if each of the list/chart utilities will be accessible by the current user from a given list or chart:
Icons for list and chart utilities are only presented when the user is authorized to use the utility from the current list or chart.
