This page allows you to define shipment split rules for a shipping location. These rules are considered in optimization for shipments that can be split.
Location
This section provides details about the shipping location. For more information, see Shipping Location fields.
The following set of shipment split restrictions can be defined for an origin or destination based on the location type. For Distribution Center and Hub location types, separate restrictions are used depending on whether the location ID appears on shipments as origin or destination. For the Load-At and Consignee location types, a single set of shipment split restriction can be defined.
Shipment Split Restrictions
Split Rule Precision: Indicates the type of split rules for the shipping location. The following are the possible options:
Location Level: Set of split rules defined on the shipping location is used.
Optimizer Default: Set of split rules from TP parameters is used.
Unconstrained: No restriction on the set of split rules used.
Notes:
If both the origin and destination of a shipment have the Unconstrained precision defined, Optimizer determines the best way to split the shipment without restrictions.
If either the origin or destination of a shipment has the Unconstrained precision defined, split rules from the location without this precision are used.
Maximum Number of Splits: Maximum number of splits that Optimizer can allow for a shipment during a single optimization.
Minimum Pickup Override Window Length/ Minimum Delivery Override Window Length: Shipments originating or terminating at this location will be eligible for splitting only if the duration of the shipment pickup or delivery window is greater than or equal to this value. For example, if the shipment has an early pickup time of 08:00 and a late pickup time of 11:00 on the same day, then splitting will not be allowed at the location if the Minimum Pickup Override Window Length is greater than 3 hours. Override horizon dates/times will be used if they have been defined for the shipment; otherwise, validation will be based on the pickup/delivery date/time windows provided when creating or updating the shipment.
Minimum Split By Shipment Attribute
This grid displays a list of minimum split sizes for the following shipment attributes:
Pallets
Pieces
Volume
Weight
The minimum split size can be defined by percentage or amount for shipment attributes.
The data defined in this section will define limits for a single optimization.
For information on icons and functionalities available on list pages, see Web Interface lists.
Note: The shipment split restrictions are considered only if the split rule precision is set to Location Level.
Operations
Cancel: Cancels the creation of a shipment split rule.
Submit: Completes the creation of a shipment split rule.
