Equipment Type ID: The ID for the equipment type. It is user-assigned, mandatory d cannot be modified after the equipment type has been created.
Description: User maintainable description. It is mandatory. It can be modified in Update mode.
External ID: An external identifier that can be used for cross-reference purposes (for example, EDI).
FEU Factor: FEU Factor refers to the relative size of the detail in relation to a standard forty foot container. For example, FEU Factor for a forty foot container would be 1.000000 and for a twenty foot container would be .500000.
Note: All weights, lengths and dimensions for equipment types are expressed in the base system unit of measure.
Actual Length / Width / Height: The physical dimensions of the equipment. The Plan Shipments API (processPlanShipments) will exclude any equipment types where actual dimensions of the equipment exceed the physical limits (maximums) for the applicable shipping locations. Dock scheduling will use the Actual Length of the cargo equipment type (trailer) when enforcing maximum capacity implied by the Dock Length.
Tare Weight: The unloaded weight of the equipment. This value is captured for informational and reporting purposes only; it does not impact the routing/rating/scheduling process or Optimization.
Usable Length / Width / Height: Used by routing/rating/scheduling and Optimization to establish maximum cargo capacity (volume) for the equipment. These must all be zero for equipment types where equipment category is "Tractor".
Maximum Load Weight: Used by routing/rating/scheduling and Optimization to limit weight of the freight that can be loaded into this equipment type.
Side Door / Rear Door
Note: Side Door / Rear Door controls are used to control the placement of freight within the trailer. These fields are only applicable for cargo equipment types (where Equipment Category is "Trailer", "Tractor/Trailer" and "Undefined"). They are used in conjunction with restrictions defined for shipping locations.
Side Door: Indicates whether this equipment type has a side door.
Side Door Location: Location of the side door for the trailer. If applicable, it measured from the nose (front) of the equipment.
Near Tail Boundary Location: This value represents the imaginary boundary in the trailer that defines the border between the "near tail" and the rest of the trailer. Optimization algorithms based on the "rear door unloading required" flag for shipping locations will use this definition to establish the portion of the trailer that can be considered the tail. Expressed as the distance from the nose (front) of the trailer to "near tail" boundary.
Load configuration
Load Configurator Type: Indicates if the equipment type is loaded using load configurator.
Stack Loading on Right: If selected, cylinders should start loading on the right side of the equipment.
Last Roll Height Clearance: Minimum height clearance required for cylinders that are loaded as rolls at the end of the equipment type.
Last Stack Height Clearance: Minimum height clearance required for cylinders that are loaded as stacks at the end of the equipment type.
