If you want to have hyperlinks available for some user groups but not for others, or have the applicable properties pages accessed in view mode for some user groups and update mode for others, configure a Module Content User Group Override for the applicable Module Content in the “HPRLNKCNFG_” Module. This is a Secondary Module which means it is not accessible via the Navigation Pad. The Authorization setting for the Module Content will control whether hyperlinks with will be presented to the users in a group for a particular entity, and if so, whether the page presented when the hyperlink is selected will be presented in view vs. update mode.
In most cases, when a hyperlink is selected from a list that is not a secondary search, the user will be taken to a list for the applicable entity (e.g. zones, commodities, locations, customers, carriers). This list will typically only present one row. By default, the operations available from the main list for the entity in the System Entities or System Settings modules will also be available when the list is accessed via hyperlink. If you want a different set of operations to be available to all user groups when the list is accessed via hyperlink, create a Screen Element Version for the applicable list and User Group Type combination. Specify the applicable Module Content in the “HPRLNKCNFG_” Module as the Source Module Content ID. For example, to create an override for the List of Shipping Locations, duplicate the Screen Element Version for Employee Users where Screen Element ID is “ES_LOCATION_LIST_” and then specify “HPRLNKCNFG04_” as the Source Module Content ID. If you want to control the available set of operations at User Group level, you will first need to create the Screen Element Version as described above and then create a User Group Screen Element Version for each user group where an alternate set of operations is required.
If you want to allow users to have update access to only some of the update-capable operations that will be available when they access a list using a hyperlink, select the View Mode Only check box for applicable operations on the Screen Element Version Operation Properties page. This can be done for all users for a User Group Type, or for a specific User Group. This is the same approach that can be user to override access for specific operations to view mode when users have update access to a list that is not accessed via hyperlink.
In a few cases, when a user selects a hyperlink on a list, they will be immediately directed to a properties page (for example, user, memo, dock selection options, business hours) instead of being directed to a list. For these entities, the configuration for the “HPRLNKCNFG_” module will control view vs. update access even if there is an equivalent operation available from the source list. For example, the Memo for a load can be accessed using the Menu operation on a load list or by clicking the word “Yes” when it appears as a hyperlink in the Memo column.
