Rating Tariff Charges where Data Accumulation Level is Container

When the Data Accumulation Level for the master charge for a tariff charge is Container, rating will be performed for each of the containers that comprise each shipment. For loads, rating will be based on the attributes of each of the containers associated with each of the shipments attached to the load. However, it is unlikely that a tariff charge with a Data Accumulation Level of Container will be activated for a tariff service combination that will normally be used to handle TL type transactions. For NOFs (web UI and API) and Rate Calculator (web UI), there will be exactly one implied container associated with each implied shipment for the request. The Rate Quotation API will accept a list of containers.

If a tariff charge has a Data Accumulation Level of Container, the applicable Rating Units, Look-Up Units and Net Effect Calculation Units will be restricted to just the following values:

For shipments, shipment legs, loads and trips, the longest side, second longest side, shortest side and size will be based on the dimensions for the individual containers associated with each shipment. For Rate Quotation API requests where container breakdown has been provided, dimensions will be based on the data in the container structure. For NOFs (web UI and API), rate calculator (web UI) and rate quotations (API) where container breakdown is not provided, the dimensions will be based on the container type associated with the transaction. If individual dimensions are not available, then the dimensions for the actual or implied container will be zero.

For shipments, shipment legs, loads, trips and rate quotation API requests where container breakdown has been supplied, the other values will be based on existing values associated with individual containers. For NOFs (web UI and API), rate calculator (web UI) and rate quotations where container breakdown has not been provided, values associated with the virtual shipment will be used.

When the Quantity for a container is greater than 1 or the Number of Pallets or Number of Pieces is greater than 1 for a NOF, rate calculator (web UI) or rate quotation where container breakdown has not be provided, rating will be performed using values for a single occurrence of the container. The computed amount will then be extended by the quantity.

Rounding rules will be applied to the rating units for each individual container.
