A generic tariff does not pertain to a particular carrier or customer, and is usually set up to serve as the basis or template for other tariffs. The Carrier ID and Customer ID fields are not enabled. These tariffs are not directly referenced by routing / rating / scheduling. However, if a referential tariff is based on a Generic Tariff, the composition of the generic tariff will be used when rating any transaction using the referential tariff. The referential tariff could have any of the other five possible attributes.
