The following data will be used when triggering a rating request using the SMC RateWare parcel engine:
Tariff Name: Mapped from the Data field of the External Rating Engine Version.
Tariff Date: Mapped from the Data2 field of the External Rating Engine Version.
Origin Zip Code: Mapped from the From Postal Code in the Shipment Leg table or Shipment table.
Destination Zip: Mapped from the To Postal Code in the Shipment Leg table or Shipment table.
Tier: Set to "N".
Service Code: Mapped from the External Service Type column in the Tariff Service table. Even though SMC RateWare supports a default service of "GND", this field is mandatory for tariffs in Transportation Manager for services where parcel rating will be used.
Packaging Code: Mapped from the Carrier Package Type which is referenced by the Container Type for a shipment container, or the Container Type specified for a Rate Quotation or NOF. If no valid Carrier Package Type is defined, the default SMC RateWare value "OUR" will be used.
Drop Off Pickup Code: For A/P requests, mapped from the Drop Off Pickup Service Type in the Carrier Account Number table. The key for this table is Carrier ID, Freight Terms, Customer ID and Shipping Location. Customer is optional. Therefore, the entry with a Customer ID will be checked first; if not found, lookup will be performed using the entry without the Customer ID. For A/R requests, the Drop Off Pickup Code in the Customer Shipping Location table will be used. If no Drop Off Pickup Code can be found, the default "DPS" will be used to rate the package.
Residential: Mapped from the Residential flag in the Address table. It is the customer's responsibility to update this flag in the address table to differentiate residences from commercial addresses.
Surcharge Type and Surcharge: These two parameters will not be set. After the external rating call has been performed, Transportation Manager and Transportation Planner will use the surcharge/discounts defined on the tariff to calculate the applicable surcharges and discounts.
