Rate Calculator Controls

• Itinerary Format: Controls the presentation of location fields on the Main tab of the Rate Calculator (Input) page. The following values are supported:
  • Multi-Location Itinerary
  • Origin and Destination
  • Origin, Destination, Template

    Note: If Routing Method is Routing and Rating Only or Routing, Rating and Scheduling, the locations defined on the itinerary will be interpreted as locations for a multi-stop load. If Routing Method is Optimization, the locations on the itinerary will define required midpoints on a multi-leg routing. Itinerary can be provided explicitly (through editable grid on Main tab when Itinerary Format is Multi-Location Itinerary) or indirectly (via Itinerary Template when Itinerary Format is Origin, Destination, Template).

• Routing Method: Controls how Transportation Planner is invoked. It also determines whether a single date/time must be provided on the Main tab for the Rate Calculator (Input) page or a full set of pick-up and delivery ranges are required. The supported values are:
  • Optimization
  • Routing and Rating Only
  • Routing, Rating and Scheduling
• Constraints Override File: Applicable only when Routing Method is Optimization. This defines the parameter set that must be used by the optimization request.
• Ship Direct: When the Routing Method is Optimization, if intermediate points are specified either explicitly using editable grid or indirectly via an Itinerary Template, the Ship Direct defines whether the specified itinerary fully describes the desired routing. If the check box is not selected, additional intermediate shipping locations could be inserted into the itinerary by the optimizer, as required. If the check box is selected, additional intermediate shipping locations cannot be proposed. There will be no way to define separate rules for the individual legs implied by the defined itinerary. For example, there is no way to designate Ship Direct as being True from Location A to B but False from B to C.
• Container Type Enabled: The controls the presentation of the Rating Units section on the Main tab for the Rate Calculator (Input) page. If this flag is not selected, Pieces and/or Pallets must be provided. If this flag is selected, Container Type and Quantity are required; in this case, Quantity will be interpreted as Pieces or Pallets based on the designated Container Type.
• Apply Resource Constraints: Indicates whether resource constraints such as, lane constraints and equipment availability are applied when executing any rate quotation request.
• Resource Project ID: The CEA resources having same value as selected resource project ID from optimization request will be used to evaluate loads and trips during optimization. All loads and trips that are created or modified by optimization will be set to the Resource Project ID (RPID) associated with the optimization request. When creating an optimization request, the RPID associated with the Plan is assigned to the optimization request, by default. For loads assigned to a trip, the RPID on loads do not have to be the same across all loads and also does not have to be the same as for the trip. Trip level RPID will be honored when assigning CEA Resources to a trip. A load level RPID that is different from a trip level value would be used only if the load is subsequently removed from the trip. Similarly, a booking may contain loads having different RPID although the booking itself does not refer to a RPID.
