User Group Authorization

The flags in the User Group Authorization section will determine whether users are granted View vs. Update access to Reference Numbers associated with this Reference Number Qualifier.

Separate controls are provided to control access for each User Group Type: Employees, Carriers, Customers.

In Create and Update modes, available Authorization options for all User Group Types will include "Authorized to View Only" and "Authorized to Update". Default for non system provided Reference Number Types will be "Authorized to Update".

If the Auto Generate Only flag is checked, all User Group Types must be "Authorized to View only".

When Generation Source is Manual, at least one User Group Type must be "Authorized to Update".

User Group Authorization for the Reference Number Qualifier will be enforced in conjunction with other factors that might restrict a user’s ability to update reference numbers. If user is restricted for any reason, he will not be able to update.

For example: An Employee user would not be able to update a Reference Number in either of these cases even if the controlling Reference Number Qualifier was configured with "Authorized to Update" access for Employees:

• User has been assigned a Function Authorization of "View Only" to the Loads function in the Load Processing module and this user accesses the Reference Numbers operation from the List of Loads in Process in the Load Processing module.
• User accesses the Reference Numbers operation for a load in CLOSED operational status.
