Reference numbers are captured in the Audit tables to be available for export to any reporting database. Reference Numbers that need to be captured can be identified via Reference Number Configuration Visibility. Reference Numbers in the Audit tables will be maintained at the level of the corresponding entity (for example, trip, booking, load, or shipment) and not in a separate database table, as is the case for the TM Operational Reference Number data. Therefore, there will be a fixed number of Reference Numbers that can be preserved.
When creating an entry in the Load Audit table, up to twenty (20) load level reference numbers will be preserved.
When creating an entry in the Shipment or Shipment Leg Audit table, up to twenty (20) shipment level reference numbers will be preserved.
When creating an entry in the Trip Audit table for a Trip, up to twenty (20) trip level reference numbers will be preserved.
When creating an entry in the Trip Audit table for a Booking, up to twenty (20) booking level reference numbers will be preserved.
If there are multiple Reference Numbers for an entity using the same Reference Number Qualifier Type, only one of these Reference Numbers will be preserved in the Audit table.
Note: Data in the Audit tables for trips, bookings, loads, shipment and shipment legs will refer to the active Reference Number Visibility Configuration Version ID at the time the audit data was captured. This version will contain the Reference Number Types corresponding to each of the twenty (20) Reference Number fields at that moment.
