Dock Schedule (Dock Commitments)

Unassociated dock commitments

A dock commitment that refers to load/stop is "associated"; a dock commitment that does not refer to a load/stop is "unassociated". Authorized users can create both types of dock commitment using the same property page.

An "unassociated" dock commitment could be used in any of the following ways:

An unassociated dock commitment can optionally refer to a Carrier ID. If a carrier type user is allowed to create an unassociated dock commitment, it must refer to the user's Carrier ID.

Authorized users will be able to link an unassociated dock commitment to an existing load/stop, provided the stop does not already refer to a dock commitment. This can be done by specifying the Load ID and Stop Sequence Number on the Dock Commitment Properties.

Appointments will not be created in Transportation Manager for dock commitments that are not associated with a load/stop.

Commodity, loading type, and equipment type violations will not be applicable for unassociated dock commitments.

The default duration for an unassociated dock commitment will be based on the Fixed Loading/Unloading Time for the dock. If this value is not defined for the dock, the time for the corresponding shipping location will be used.

A request to perform any of the load oriented operations (Load Properties, Load Stops, Load Shipments) will be rejected for an unassociated dock commitment.
