The following are the possible error conditions for a dock commitment:
Commodity Violation: The dock does not support the commodity of one or more of the shipments to be picked / dropped at the dock.
Equipment Type Violation: The Trailer Equipment Type of the load is not supported at this dock.
Inbound / Outbound Violation: The inbound/outbound designation for the applicable dock has been violated for this dock commitment. Not applicable when the dock type is both inbound and outbound.
Location Throughput Group Violation: The location throughput group capacity was violated when this dock commitment was created or last modified. This will occur when other dock commitments utilize the available location throughput group capacity, or when a dock commitment is created based on an optimization request that was active at the time another dock commitment that caused capacity to be fully consumed was manually created or modified.
Booked when Closed: This commitment has been scheduled outside the normal hours of operation, as defined for the dock.
Over-Committed: This commitment overlaps with another commitment that has been made for this dock.
Dock on Hold: The dock for this dock commitment is currently on hold.
Live / Non-Live Violation: The inbound/outbound environment for the dock is in conflict with Non-Live Pick-Up or Drop-Off flag for the dock commitment. Not applicable when the dock type is eligible for both live and non-live activity.
Dock Selection Constraints Violation: There is one or more Dock Selection Constraints required for the dock commitment that is not defined for the applicable dock.
Start Date Change Earlier Violation: The Start Date for the dock commitment has been changed to a date that is earlier than the original Start Date by more than xxx days, where xxx is defined for the applicable dock.
Start Date Change Later Violation: The Start Date for the dock commitment has been changed to a date that is later than the original Start Date by more than xxx days, where xxx is defined for the applicable dock.
Loading type Violation: A stop has at least one loading type that cannot be managed at the dock.
Dock Activity Violation: The pre-loading or post-discharge dock commitment is created on a dock whose Dock Activity Type is Carrier. Note: carrier activity type dock commitment is never allowed on a dock whose Dock Activity Type is Internal.
Pre-Loading/Post-Discharge Time Violation:
Pre-loading dock commitment’s end date/time is not at least xxx hours earlier than the related carrier dock commitment’s start date/time, where xxx is the dock’s latest pre-loading end hour.
Pre-loading dock commitment’s end date/time is more than xxx hours earlier than the related carrier dock commitment’s start date/time, where xxx is the dock’s earliest pre-loading end hour.
Post-discharge dock commitment’s start date/time is not at least xxx hours later than the related carrier dock commitment’s end date/time, where xxx is the dock’s earliest post-discharge start hour.
Post-discharge dock commitment’s start date/time is more than xxx hours later than the related carrier dock commitment’s end date/time, where xxx is the dock’s latest post-discharge start hour.
Note: Closed business hours for the dock(s) are not counted.
Authorized users can create dock commitments with one or more of the violation conditions listed above. These users can also modify an existing dock commitment so that it newly violates one or more violation conditions. Authorization is defined in the User Group profile.
Optimizer will not violate any known constraints when generating new dock commitments or when modifying loads with existing dock commitments. These violations occur only when the dock commitment is created or modified manually. Since Optimizer uses a snapshot of data taken at the time the process commences, dock commitments can be in violation if applicable data was modified after the optimization request started. See "Transportation Planner considerations" for additional details.
Each list of dock commitments supports filtering based on any combination of these error conditions. The List of Dock Commitments (Carrier) can be used to view a consolidated list of dock commitments across different docks and locations where one or more violation conditions are applicable.
The List of Stops (Carrier) will allow user to use filtering to identify stops where dock commitments are required but do not yet exist.
Overlap between dock commitments for a given dock occurs when the End Date/Time for the earlier dock commitment is greater than the Start Date/Time for the later dock commitment. An overlap situation does not exist when the End Date/Time for the earlier dock commitment is equal to the Start Date/Time for the later dock commitment (For example, overlap does not exist when for a given dock there is one dock commitment from 10:00 to 11:00 and another from 11:00 to 12:00).
