Shipping Locations

The following table describes the sample configuration for the shipping location where first pick-up for load will occur:

• Tender Response Time: Maximum duration allotted to carriers for tender response for loads originating at this location.
• Minimum Tender Lead Time: Minimum length of time that must be provided to carriers prior to scheduled pick-up at the first stop. This includes an allowance for Tender Response, plus time for the carrier to arrange for a driver and equipment, time for the carrier to reach the pick-up location plus time for warehouse activities. Minimum Tender Lead Time is also maintained in the Carrier profile; the greater of the Carrier and Shipping Location values will be used.

Note: Prior to issuing each tender, the amount of time remaining before the load must ship will be computed. The lead times for all remaining eligible carriers and the origin shipping location will be considered. The greatest time defined for any of the carriers or for the origin location will be used as the lead time. As each carrier is eliminated from the list of eligible carriers, upon recalculation of time, only the lead times for the remaining carriers and origin shipping location will be considered. Therefore, it is possible to have a different lead time used on subsequent tender calculations.

Example:

Based on the values indicated in the following table, the lead time used in the initial calculations will be 4 hours as this is the greatest value for all of the eligible Carriers plus the Origin Shipping Location. Once Carrier 1 is dropped from the CST list leaving Carriers 2 - 4, the greatest lead time is now from the shipping location (3 hours).
