General

Carrier sequential tendering (CST) is an asynchronous process that manages the tendering process for loads.

CST will establish a working list of potential carrier / tariff / service combinations (referenced below as carrier / service combinations) for each load using the route, rate and schedule process. This will identify any carrier / service combinations that could theoretically be used to handle the load.

The load will initially be tendered to the first carrier on the list. If this carrier rejects the tender, or an employee cancels the tender, or a response is not received from the carrier prior to the Tender Response Required By Date/Time, the load will be offered to the next carrier. This will continue until the tender is accepted, or the list of carrier / service combinations is exhausted.

Scheduling will be performed each time the load is tendered. The tender will not be issued if there is insufficient lead time for the carrier to handle the request.
