Create a spot rate from the Rate Shop screen (Employee)

From Transportation Manager Web user interface:

1. Perform one of the following tasks:
   • Display the Rate Shop screen for loads (Employee).
   • Display the Rate Shop screen for shipments (Employee).
   • Display the Rate Shop screen for non-operational freight (Employee).
2. Select a row on the rate shop list representing a tariff/service combination.
3. Click Spot Rate - Update. The Spot Rate screen is displayed.
4. Enter the required information (that is, the Spot Rate Amount).
5. Click Submit. The spot rate is saved. The browser is returned to the list from which the Rate Shop screen was accessed. The Rate Shop screen (that is, the screen from which the Spot Rate - Update operation was requested) is not redisplayed.

Note: Spot rates cannot be applied for: shipment legs (that is, shipments handled via the Manifest process), trips, or loads attached to a trip.

From Transportation Manager Smartbench:

1. Run a search to display the Load view.
2. Select a load and click Rate Shop . The Rate Shop for Load page is displayed.
3. Select a row on the Rating Results grid representing the tariff/service combination requiring a spot rate.
4. Select Update Spot Rate . The Spot Rate for Load dialog box is displayed.
5. Enter the appropriate amount.
6. Click Ok. The load will be rated with the spot rate amount, and control is returned to the Transportation Smartbench search result panel with the rating result displayed in the message area.

Note: In TSB, spot rate can also be created by performing the Divert In Transit operation in the load view. The following conditions are applicable:

• You cannot select a tariff or service. Transportation Manager uses tariff or service that is assigned when tendered
• Rating does not need to be successful.
