Drag and drop to assign drivers

In Transportation Smartbench, the drag and drop feature allows you to assign drivers to a target eligible load, trip, or skeleton route.

Regardless if a driver selection is dropped on a load, trip or skeleton route, the Driver Assignment confirmation dialog is presented. When the action is confirmed, a driver assignment record is created only if the target is a load or trip. Assignments to skeleton routes are applied to the skeleton route Driver ID field only. Later (when a load is generated from the skeleton route), driver assignment(s) are created for the resulting load so long as there are no driver assignment restrictions defined as No Override violated.

You can use this feature in any one of the following ways:

• Select a row in the driver view, then drag and drop on a target load, trip, or skeleton route.
• Select a row in the load, trip, or skeleton route views, then drag and drop on the eligible driver in the driver view.

Note: Users must have update permission to the target entity as well as meet applicable division, logistics group and plan authorizations in order to assign drivers using drag and drop.
