Edit single and multiple entity view rows

Editing entity view data can be initiated in one of these ways:

Note: If the field is more than just a straight text box (such as a date, date/time or reference to another object), you will also get the appropriate picker-support icon to help you make a value selection.

When using Edit Selected…

  1. For monetary and Unit of Measure (UoM) type fields, select one of the following options from the drop-down list and enter the required value in the field beside the drop-down list:

Note: For other editable data types, only the Set Value option is provided.

  2. Use the Set Value option when you want to clear existing values in a field. Simply leave the text box blank.
  3. Click OK to accept your selection in the Edit Selected dialog. Alternatively, you can click or press the Esc key to close the dialog box without making a selection.

Note: When you change the value in a column, a red triangle is displayed on the top left-hand corner of the cell indicating a change. This is your visual clue that a change is made, but not yet saved to the database.

  4. Repeat the above to edit a different column in the same view, or to edit the same column for a different row selection.
  5. Click Submit to post changes to the database, after finishing row level edits. If an error occurs while posting updates, it is displayed in a summary message at the top of the results panel. Click this message to view the entire message log. Alternatively, Click Reset to revert un-posted changes.
