Trip view operations in Transportation Smartbench

This section lists trip view operations with a description.

You can access entity view operations in any of the following ways:

Select an operation from the operation toolbar
Right-click over the entity grid’s row selection check box
Note: This method requires the presence of at least one row in the entity grid.

Note: Administrator can configure operations for a role. Only the authorized operations are displayed in your operation toolbar.

The Transportation Smartbench (TSB) performs basic validations when an operation is initiated.

Front-end validations include the following:

To test whether an operation requires row selection or supports multi-row selection
To halt an operation when the user is not authorized to the plans referenced in the selection.

Front-end validation errors display in the form of a dialog box. If a validation message is displayed, the entire operation is halted and you must take appropriate corrective action before re-initiating the operation.

When configured, the TSB displays a confirmation dialog box allowing you to cancel the action before it is passed to the back-end API for execution.

A few operations require you to select an appropriate reason code to proceed with the operation. See "Event reason codes" for more information.

Comprehensive validations are performed by back-end APIs servicing most TSB operations. The results of operations are summarized in a single message and displayed on the title bar of the Results View. As a result, some objects in the selection may succeed while others may fail. The message in the Results View summarizes the status of the whole operation. The outcome of the operation on individual objects in the selection can be viewed by clicking the message. This opens the TSB session log to show messages for each object-operation performed since the start of the TSB session.

Manage Domicile Resources	Yes	No	Allows you to maintain vehicle related information for the selected trip or its associated loads. If a trip has associated loads, then tractor and trailer resources of assigned trip will be displayed. Otherwise, tractor and trailer resources of load will be displayed. Map	Yes	No	Displays a Map view for selected trips. Note: This operation will only be available if the map license is detected (and the operation is active/enabled).
Memo	No	No	Displays both internal and external memo fields for the selected trip. For more information, see Display memo comments.
New	Not Applicable	No	Allows you to create a new trip for a list of loads selected from a secondary load search result. See Create Trip (Employee) – Transportation Smartbench.

Note: * Execute across pages is a feature that allows you to run an operation on all rows in the current search result. In order to use this feature, you must first execute the Show Total Count grid header operation and not select any grid rows. As a performance consideration, the application imposes a limit on the number of rows supported. The limit applies to all users and can be adjusted by an application administrator if necessary. When the operation is complete, the search used to populate the grid is re-executed and depending on the applicable search criteria (and operation executed), objects appearing in the original search result may no longer appear.
